First day first show of Local Kung Fu 2 goes housefull at PVR
Guwahati, April 19, 2017: The first show of Assamese cult classic Local Kung Fu 2 opened to a thunderous response across the state on Wednesday afternoon. Based on William Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors, the film can easily claim the spot for most awaited Assamese film of the year with shows being pre-booked online to nearly housefull capacity at different theatres. The show at PVR was booked to over 80% capacity online and the rest of the seats filled up through counter sales much before the show actually began.
Speakingafter the show at PVR, actor-director-producer Kenny Deori Basumatary said, “Weare truly humbled by the love we have received from our fans. It is because oftheir support on our crowdfunding campaign that the film could hit the theatrestoday, and now, with the amazing day-1 bookings, we couldn’t be happier. Now,we are sure our fans will definitely make this film a blockbuster success.”
The film isabout two pairs of twins who get separated at birth. One pair of twins stays inGuwahati and the other stays in Tezpur. The pair in Guwahati know martial arts,but the pair in Tezpur don’t. After a series of events, the pair from Guwahatiends up in Tezpur, and that is when the confusion begins.
Kenny DeoriBasumatary and Utkal Hazowary will be seen playing the key roles in the film.The cast of the film also includes Sarmistha Chakravorty, Eepsita Hazarika,Bonny Deori, Tony Deori Basumatary, Bibhash Singha, Bibhuti Bhushan Hazarika,Yashraj Jadhav, Montu Deori and Amar Singh Deori. The Associate Producers ofthe film are Advent Films and Marquish Basumatary, while Durlov Baruah is theExecutive Producer. The story has been written and directed by KennyBasumatary, and has been produced jointly by BP Deori and Kenny Basumatary. Thecinematography has been done by Suruj Deka, coloured by Dhruva J. Bordoloi, andthe music of the film has been prepared by Tony-Derrick-Utkash. The film has 8songs in various flavours.
