Addressing the new staff at the concluding session, Vice Chancellor Dr Stephen Mavely reminded the new staff that they ?now belong to the Don Bsoco family, and to consider their life spent at the university as a vocation.? He also encouraged the new staff, ?to grow personally and professionally,? especially by taking advantage of the frequent in-service training offered both in house and outside for self-enrichment and updating. The VC also familiarized the new recruits the various levels to address their concerns starting with their Department Head, Principal, Directors, HR Director and finally to the VC himself. ?My door is always open to share your hopes, fears and anxieties,? the VC said encouraging them ?to make their stay a joyful experience.? As a piece of last advice, the VC insisted they must ?keep negativity away and keep gratefulness alive.? The VC also had a word of caution for the challenging situations that could arise. He said, ?seek closure and don?t carry it home.?
