Tezpur University becomes the National Champion of Sweden India Nobel Memorial Quiz 2014 - Winners get an all-expenses trip to Sweden -
November 05, New Delhi: Tezpur University won the Grand Finale of The Sweden India Nobel Memorial Quiz 2014 at the Hindu College, beating the finalists from 10 cities across India. The winners have won a weeklong all-expense paid trip to Sweden. The team of three comprising Anubhav Joshi, Subhasish Dutta & Ashutosh Das did their college proud by winning the finale. The 10 city annual intercollegiate quiz competition, with contestants from Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune, saw avid quizzers from across reputed colleges and technical Institutes of all the participating cities. Quiz Master Kunal Savarkar hosted the qualifying and the Grand Finale round. ?We are extremely excited to have won the Grand Finale. We have received immense support from our college to reach his position. Sweden India Nobel Memorial Quiz for seven years has been giving us this opportunity to prove our intellectual skills. The prize also will give us an opportunity to visit Sweden and the renowned Swedish Companies? said a member of the winning team. Ahead of the Grand Finale, reputed colleges and technical institutes from Delhi and NCR competed for the last qualifying round earlier in the day. The Delhi qualifying round was won by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). Whilst in Sweden, the winning team will get to visit the Nobel Museum, Swedish companies like IKEA, Ericsson, Volvo Cars, SAAB, Atlas Copco, ABB, Sandvik, Scania, SEB, Tetrapak and SKF among others and visit Swedish universities too. The 1st and 2nd runner-up of the Grand Finale also won; a visit to Swedish Aerospace giant, Saab?s stand at AERO INDIA 2015. The sponsored trip will included one day visit to Bangalore, travel, entry fee, lunch and guided tour of the Saab stand.
