Hosts win Technodash marathon

on mark1Guwahati, Thursday, 18th?September:?Prajyukattam 2014, the Technofest of Don Bosco College of Engineering and Technology (DBCET) launched a 3-day festival with a marathon run from Don Bosco, Pan Bazaar to Don Bosco, Maligaon. The theme of the marathon was ?Run for Techno - entrepreneurship development in North- East India?. The Principal of DBCET Manoranjan Kalita addressed the inaugural session and wished the participants all the best. Mr. Mahadev Deka (Mr. Universe, a body builder and an Engineer) inaugurated the run by waving a red colour flag. Some 400 college students took part in the marathon which began at 6.30 a.m. from Don Bosco Pan Bazaar to Don Bosco Technical School Maligaon, covering a distance of almost 8.3 kms. Among boys - Devkumar Shiv, Lithrikyu and Mukhe from DB Tech Maligaon, came 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. Among girls- Azel M. J., Marsila and Albina, grabbed 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions. The winners of first three positions were given the cash award of 10,000, 8,000 and 6,000 Rupees each. Besides the winners, the first top ten students who successfully completed the run were also given the cash award of 500 rupees each.
