Chethan Gowda goes all out to woo voters in Padmanabhanagar
Bangalore- 2nd May 2013: Unfazed by his formidable and powerful rival, Dy CM and Home Minister R Ashoka of the BJP, the young Chethan Gowda of the Congress is going all out to woo the voters in his Padmanabhanagar Assembly constituency. Gowda has been meeting people in parks, libraries, hospitals and shopping malls, and seeking their blessings.
On his campaign trail, he told TWB that he has been pleasantly surprised by the response he has been getting from the people from all walks of life. That he is the second youngest candidate contesting the polls has added to people?s curiosity. He noted with pride that party workers from the neighboring constituency have also come to campaign for him in Padmanabhnagar. The campaign has seen a lot of high profile interest with former chief minister SM Krishna and actor Ramya lending their mite.?Gowda says he has met nearly one lakh voters which has helped him to understand their problems faced almost on a daily basis. The people are clearly fed up with the BJP government which has failed them on all parameters, he said. He also acknowledged the support of his party workers and well wishers who have been toiling for his success all through the day and late into the night. He said the Congress workers were extremely enthusiastic especially given that there was a pro-Congress wave in the state over and above anti-incumbency working against the ruling BJP. This particularly came to light during his campaign in Yediyur and Karesandra wards, he said.
Gowda also stated that the JD(S) workers in his constituency had also joined hands with the Congress and were working for him. It showed the extent of revulsion the people had for the BJP?s governance and track record which was sure to impact in the results of the poll.
